THE POLICE at Breman Asikuma in the Central Region have apprehended four persons for the murder of a 23-year-old man at Beposo near Kuntunase.
The suspects have been identified as Nana Kofi Amangu, Kwamena Sasan, Kwame Sersah and Akwasi Essuman, all residents of  Breman Kuntunase.
They are alleged to have tied the victim, identified as Kwaku Nkrumah, to a tree and physically assaulted him with sticks and clubs, because they suspected him to be a thief.
The Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Central Regional Police Command, Chief Inspector Evans Ettie, who briefed the DAILY GUIDE on the matter, said on January 4, 2022 around 6:50am, the Breman Asikuma District Police Command received a report that on January 3, 2022, the four suspects attacked and killed Kwaku Nkrumah at Beposo near Kuntunase.
He said they tied him with a rope, hit him with clubs until he became unconscious and died. “Police, upon receipt of the report, proceeded to the scene at Beposo where the body of Kwaku Nkrumah was found lying in a supine position covered with an old mat,” he disclosed.
Chief Inspector Ettie said when an inspection was conducted at the scene, the police found a rope made with mosquito net stained with blood lying by the body, some clubs with blood stains scattered in the area and believed to have been used in assaulting the victim.
He further said the inspection on the body showed marks of assaults and with blood oozing from his ears and nostrils with a swollen head.
He continued that “the body, picked after photographs were taken, has been deposited at Our Lady of Grace Hospital Mortuary at Breman Asikuma for preservation and autopsy.”
He said the four suspects have been detained to assist police with investigations since the case is under investigation.
