Musah Yussif, 45, has been lynched by some youth at a funeral at Agric, a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region.
Yussif was said to have had some misunderstandings with another person at the funeral grounds and in the ensuing heat, went home and came back to the grounds with a gun and started firing indiscriminately.
Some mourners at the funeral grounds sustained injuries as a result of the firing and this resulted in the lynching by the youth.
The Northern Region Crime Officer, Supt Bernard Baba Ananga, who confirmed the incident to journalists, said preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was lynched.
He also disclosed that five other persons sustained gunshot wounds and that three were in critical condition at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
Supt Ananga however, said a subchief (Kanbong Naa) who is alleged to have had an issue with the deceased, has been invited to assist police in their investigation.
He called on residents of Agric to volunteer information to assist police in their investigations.
Meanwhile, no arrest has been made by the police.
