Former Asante Kotoko CEO, Herbert Mensah, has stated emphatically that the Nana Yaw Amponsah-led administration is on the right path.
To the Ghana Rugby Union boss, Nana Yaw’s sponsorship drive since assuming office in the last few years speaks volumes, and should be highly commended.
As a result, he has asked the entire Kotoko fraternity to rally behind Amponsah in his quest to place the club, referred to as an institution, on a high pedestal.
He advised the former Phar Rangers boss to shut his ears to innuendos and esteem silence as he contributes his quota to the Red Army.
He told his name sake (Amponsah) on his visit that “…Kotoko is an institution and not a club, as you journey on and build the club, keep quiet, shut your ears to rumours and innuendos and if you can help, which l believe you can, help.
“Kotoko has had great chairmen in the past like Yaw Bawuah, who recently passed on, running a great club like Kotoko is like work in progress, it is not like you succeed or fail. I watch him from afar, and I can say he is on the right path, and should be supported.”
The Kotoko CEO, who considers Herbert Mensah as his mentor and great source of inspiration said, “I am overwhelmed, the knowledge you churn out any time l come around is overwhelming, when your name is mentioned, the entire Kotoko fraternity go gaga due to what you did for some of us to build on.”
The current administration has succeeded in attracting key sponsors like Hisense, NLA, among other corporate organisations.
Kotoko currently leads the league pack with 30 points.
