Most Rev. Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo
The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana has called on education stakeholders and government to ensure that teachers’ reward is not left to be in heaven, but should be made to start here on earth.
He said, “The narrative that ‘teachers reward is in heaven’ must change. They must have it here on earth before going to heaven.”
Most Rev. Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo stated this when he was addressing teachers and students of Methodist Senior High School in Sekondi in the Western Region.
The Presiding Bishop was in the region for a day’s official visit to some of the church’s diocese and their educational institutions in the area.
He commended the management, board members and the entire staff for their hard work in bringing the school to its current state, with a total population of about 1,700. “For some teachers, even the environment alone will drive them away. But you have decided to remain committed,” he pointed out.
