The organisers of the tenth edition of the Ghana DJ Awards have been applauded by patrons for the spectacular event turnout and showmanship.
The event, held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the Silver Star Tower in Accra, witnessed some selected Ghanaian artistes performing to the satisfaction of music lovers.
The likes of Black Sherif, Keche Global, Lekzy the Comic, Obaapa Christy, Amerado, and AK Songstress among other artistes did not disappoint their loyal fans as they served them with the best of their hit singles.
In addition to the league of performers at the ceremony, Incredible Zigi and the Afrozig Dance Company, The Militants Dance Group, DJ Xpliph, Deri, Lumi DMR and Vanilla also thrilled fans at the event.
This year’s event also attracted some top Ghanaian musicians, DJs, stakeholders in the creative arts industry as well as music fans from all walks of life.
This year’s event, which was repackaged to meet the demands of the industry players, rewarded hardworking radio, nightclub and mobile DJs who have contributed immensely to the growth of the entertainment industry in Ghana.
In his address, the CEO of Ghana DJ Awards, Merqury Quaye, called for stakeholders to support the awards scheme as it sought to highlight Ghana’s hardworking DJs to the world.
Hosted by Radio Presenter Andy Dosty, the event for the fifth time in a row awarded the overall DJ of the Year to DJ Vyrusky, beating the likes of DJ Sly King, DJ MJ, DJ Mic Smith, DJ Aroma, and DJ Faculty.
DJ Vyrusky also took home the Best DJ – Southern Zone.
Some of the award winners include DJ Famous -Discovery of the Year, DJ Mic Smith – Event DJ of the Year, DJ Justice – Artiste DJ of the Year, DJ Nastro – Scratch DJ of the Year, DJ Toyor – Mobile DJ of the Year, DJ Lord – Mixtape of the Year, DJ Aberga – Video Jockey of the Year, Kojo Manuel – Hypeman/MC of the Year, DJ Coleda – Female Radio DJ of the Year and a host of others.
