Ghanaian fashion critic-cum-internet sensation, Charlie Dior, has warned red carpet shenanigans not to dress anyhow to the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) but dress to make a statement or suffer criticism from his fashion review show.
According to the fashion stylist, the VGMA for over two decades has served as the ‘Grammy Award’ for the Ghanaian entertainment industry, hence celebrities must take advantage of the platform to show their fashion prowess.
“On the red carpet at the VGMA, the world is watching, so I need them to look their best. We have so many stylists in Ghana and amazing fashion designers ready to dress them up. Dress to show the world what we have in Ghana.
What they need to do is put money into their looks and not rely on freebies because if they dress anyhow to the red carpet I will criticise them for that,” he told NEWSONE.
Charlie further indicated that his fashion review programme has given most celebrities an idea of how to dress to make a statement on the red carpet.
“My fashion critic show started three years ago and I have seen a big difference in how people show up on the red carpet in Ghana. This has pressured everybody to bring their finest to the red carpet. This has made most people take the red carpet seriously,” he noted.
Meanwhile, this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards will take place this Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
It will witness live stage performances from Black Sherif, Sarkodie, Piesie Esther, and a host of others. They will rock the stage alongside some of the nominees.
