The 2023 edition of the Ghana Beauty Awards has kicked off with a call on beauty stakeholders to take part in the award by nominating themselves.
Make-Up Ghana, organizers of the award ceremony in a statement on Friday, June 2, said that nomination entries will end on July 15.
The Ghana Beauty Awards has been honoring excellence and celebrating pioneers, leading, and young professionals in the make-up and beauty industry.
It also honors businesses and brands that contribute to the economic growth of the beauty ecosystem.
This year’s award is the 7th edition under the theme; Celebrating Excellence; Finding Perfection in Imperfection.
It will take place in November 2023 and it will be part of, a week-long celebration of the beauty industry including a summit among other activities.
Industry practitioners, businesses, and brands are expected to nominate themselves through a link on the awards’ website and other social platforms.
“Seven is a significant number in many facets of life, as seen by the use of the Latin term “Septem,” which signifies “seven.” It denotes completion and perfection, honoring excellence and commemorating the outstanding accomplishments of stakeholders. It also represents a spiritual awakening and the industry’s capacity for higher heights. Therefore, this Septem Edition of the GBA will revolve around the theme; Celebrating Excellence; Finding Perfection in Imperfection,” Rebecca Donkor, CEO of Make-Up Ghana explained.
According to her, award categories up for nominations for this year’s ceremony include Beauty Retail Business Of The Year, Indigenous Brand Of The Year, Makeup Brand Of The Year, Skin Care Brand Of The Year, Hair Brand Of The Year, Beauty Brand Of The Year, Best Salon/ Studio, Best Spa And Wellness Centre, Best Customer Service Experience, Beauty Entrepreneur Of The Year
Discovery Of The Year, Makeup Artist Of The Year, and Best Special Effects Makeup Artist.
The rest include Best Editorial Makeup Artist, Best Bridal Makeup Artist Best Hair Colorist, Beauty Entrepreneur Of The Year Africa, Best Hair Cutting Stylist, Best Natural Hair Stylist, Best Loctician, Best Braids Stylist, Hair Stylist Of The Year Best Bridal Hair Stylist, Photographer Of The Year, Most Promising Barber, Barber Of The Year, and Best Barber Shop.
There are also Facilitator Educator Of The Year, People’s Choice Award, Beauty Product Of The Year, Best Eco-Friendly Beauty Product, Best Perfume/Oil/Fragrance, CSR Project Of The Year, and Beauty Entrepreneur Of The Year Diaspora.
