The organisers of the annual event dubbed ‘Ghana Party in the Park’ have announced that this year’s event will be headlined by the Tema-based R2Bees.
Positioned as a family-friendly outing, the event offers a wide range of activities suitable for people of all ages.
Being organised by Akwaaba UK in collaboration with the British High Commission, it will have attractions from a durbar of chiefs, cultural dancers, food, music, various guest artistes from UK and Ghana, kids’ activities and fashion show, among others.
In addition to R2Bees, the event will witness live stage performances from some selected artistes such as Samini, Medikal, Lasmid, Mr Drew, Cina Soul, Quamina MP, VVIP, among others who are expected to deliver back-to-back performances.
The ultimate goal of the event which takes place on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Trent Park, Cockfosters in London is to showcase Ghanaian music, food, arts and fashion to the world.
Ghana Party in the Park stands as the largest Ghanaian event beyond the country’s borders, drawing over 10,000 attendees annually.
Mr. Dennis Tawiah, Chief Executive Officer of Akwaaba UK, stated that the event platform offers artistes the opportunity to promote Ghanaian music in the diaspora.
“This year’s festival entails a lot of activities, from enjoying the best of Ghanaian music, food, dance, and arts, among many others, and the introduction of the business expo would also give Ghanaian businesses the chance to engage the diaspora on the numerous benefits of investing in the Ghanaian economy.
He called for support of all music stakeholders to make this year’s edition a success ahead of the 20th edition, which would be a homecoming musical concert in Ghana next year.
