I Killed My Madam – Houseboy

BUSTED!Allister John and KILLED! Princess Afia Ahenkan

John Allister, the houseboy who killed his employer, 35-year-old Princess Afia Ahenkan, at Apaaso near Sokoban-Ampabame in the Ashanti Region, has confessed to the crime indicating that he did it alone.

Appearing before the Asokore Mampong District Court yesterday, the suspect said he murdered his madam alone, indicating that his alleged accomplice, James Anokye, was innocent; pleading with the court to set him free.

The two suspects, who were arrested in Accra last week and brought to Kumasi, were provisionally charged for conspiracy to commit crime and murder.

The court did not take their pleas as it remanded both of them into police custody.

They are expected to return to court on October 3, 2023 for the continuation of the case.

Drama In Court

It also emerged that the suspects did not only steal the deceased’s Kia Sportage car, but also made way with a bag of rice, cooking oil, Samsung mobile phone and other valuable items of Princess Afia Ahenkan, after he had hit her head with a club and stabbed her dead.

The prosecution team requested the court to remand the two suspects after reading the case facts.

Some of the bereaved family members, who stormed the court, after proceedings, openly cursed John Allister for being so cruel and heartless.

Hunt For 3 Other Suspects

According to the prosecution team, five suspects are involved in the case out of which two, including the key suspect, John Allister and James Anokye have been apprehended by the police to face the law.

The other three suspects, who are currently at large, are Collins, a driver in Accra, Biggy and one Christian Obu.

The police are leaving no stone unturned in their determination to arrest them to also face the law.

How Allister Killed Princess

The prosecution team told the court that John Allister on September 4, 2023, contacted an agency for employment as house help, and he was enlisted and assigned to Afia Ahenkan the next day, September 5, 2023.

John Allister, the police said, travelled to Kumasi on September 5 to begin his work as a houseboy in Afia Ahenkan’s house at Apaaso near Sokoban-Ampabame, where he realised that his madam lived with her 11-year-old daughter alone.

John Allister then connived with James Anokye and Collins, both in Accra, to murder Afia Ahenkan so they could take her Kia Sportage vehicle, registered GS 307-21, and other valuables from the house.

Convinced by John Allister’s plans, James Anokye and Collins on September 10, 2023, travelled from Accra to Kumasi and they were directed to Afia Ahenkan’s house at Apaaso near Sokoban-Ampabame.

On September 11, 2023, about 11am, when John Allister realised that his madam’s daughter had gone to school, he took advantage of her absence and hit Afia Ahenkan’s head with a club, before stabbing her in the stomach.

After committing the crime, the key suspect dragged the body of his employer into a garage and invited James Anokye and Collins into the house.

The trio then made away with the Kia Sportage vehicle, bags of rice, cooking oil, mobile phone and other valuables of Afia Ahenkan as they drove to Accra, where they contacted one Biggy, who led them to sell the car to Christian Obu.

The prosecution team told the court that based on intelligence, John Allister and James Anokye were nabbed from their hideouts as efforts were underway to arrest Collins, Biggy and Christian Obu, who are on the run.

They said police realised that the suspects used the proceeds from the sale of the Kia Sportage car to buy a Toyota Vitz vehicle with registration number GS 3107-23. Both cars are in police custody now.
