A group of Ghanaians gathered outside the Ghana Embassy in Germany on Saturday to show their support for the government’s efforts to turn the economy around and the progress made.
Ghana’s economy has struggled as a result of the COVID-19 and Russia-Ukraine conflict, but opposition figures say the current crisis is the product of economic mismanagement by President Akufo-Addo and his government.
However, a section of Ghanaians in Germany believe the government is performing well in the face of the global economic crisis, expressing solidarity and support for the President and his administration.
The marchers, who were responding to recent protests in Ghana against the government, sang patriotic songs, claiming the government is working hard to turn around the economy and praised it for implementing Free SHS, TVET, and digitalisation.
The demonstrators, holding placards with various inscriptions, stated that the President had demonstrated strong leadership in the midst of the crisis, and commended him for the gradual recovery of the economy.
They specifically noted the impressive economic advances in the second quarter of this year.
The marchers expressed optimism about the economy’s complete recovery, citing clear indicators of recovery.
