Kwasi Kwaning-Bosompem
The Controller and Accountant General, Kwasi Kwaning-Bosompem, has taken exception to a publication in an Accra private newspaper which portrayed him as breaching the Civil Service Code.
In a swift reaction to the publication, the revered Accountant General has stated that “My attention has been drawn to a banner headline of the Daily Post publication on Thursday, November 2, 2023, alleging that I have thrown the Civil Service Act into the rubbish can to contest for NPP Party position.”
The publication, according to him, “is not only misleading but calculated to throw dust into the eyes of readers. I come to work regularly and attend to the demands of my office assiduously, most at times, late into the night.
As we speak, I do not have even a single poster anywhere nor do I engage in any active political activity,” he stated.
A decision regarding his future direction will be made known when the time is due, he stated.
Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem has been a victim of his political adversaries in recent times, a political observer who has demanded anonymity told DAILY GUIDE soon after reading the publication.
“To go the extent of circulating a poster of a person without his knowledge underscores the extent to which political mischief is being stretched in this country. It is sad,” the observer said.
Pro-opposition NDC newspapers are being used to prosecute the dirty agenda against the Controller and Accountant General.
Continuing, he said that “the Office of the Controller and Accountant General is a critical one and the head cannot afford to mess around with his responsibilities. It would have been palpably visible had Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem been unserious with his duties.”
The Controller and Accountant General has over three decades of experience in the public service having served in various spheres and earning respect from all who have worked with him and benefited from his service.
A cross section of the public servants have also condemned the publication and those behind the poster.
