Ghanaian musician David Kumordzie, popularly known as Togbe Ghana, will on Saturday, November 11, 2023 embark on clean-up exercises at the Ho central market lorry station in the Volta Region from 8 am to 12 noon.
The clean-up exercise is being organised by the Let Go Clean the Beach in partnership with We Tosh TV, Axe Radio, Community Connect Foundation, Ho Assembly, and Ho Central Market among other groups to promote cleanliness as well as reduce plastic waste.
A number of personalities including stakeholders in the creative arts industry, traditional leaders, and Christian leaders among others are expected to participate in the clean-up exercise.
Togbe Ghana is expected to use the event to educate Ghanaians on the need to keep their various homes and surroundings as well as communities clean.
According to Togbe Ghana, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Let Go Clean the Beach and an advocate for the promotion of good sanitation practices among citizens, his decision to organise the clean-up exercise was to raise awareness on the effect of plastic waste.
He is expected to use the opportunity to educate Ghanaians on the need to keep their various homes and surroundings as well as communities clean.
“We want more volunteers to join us because we will provide them with free food, drinks, T-shirts and cleaning equipment for the exercise,” he said.
He, however, called on the government, individuals and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to support the clean-up exercise to help reduce plastic waste in the country.
