Savannah Helpers Foundation Supports Schools

Savannah Helpers Foundation has supported two Junior High Schools in the Kumbungu district of the Northern region with learning materials.

The two beneficiary schools are Nandu Junior High School and Voggu Junior High School under the Kumbungu district.

The donated items include exercise books, pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, mathematical sets, sanitary pads, and other materials.

The Founder of the Foundation, Ruhainatu Mohammed Murtala, said the donation forms part of the corporate social responsibility of the Foundation.

She indicated that aside from the donation, the foundation also educated the students especially the girls about menstrual hygiene and sexual harassment.

“ We teach the girls what they are supposed to do after their menstrual cycle as well as what they need to do especially the girls when they are being sexually harassed by their teachers or colleague students”.

She disclosed that they will do their best to support students in rural communities in the north to ensure that they get the education they deserve.

“These students are our future leaders and we should do everything possible to ensure that they get the needed assistance to excel”.

Abdul Samed Karim, a Facilitator at Nandu Junior High School, thanked Savannah Helpers Foundation for the donation adding that the donation came at the right time and that it will go a long way to help enhance the education of the students.

“We are in a very remote community in the district and it’s difficult for some parents to provide the needs of their wards such as books, pads, and other learning materials so this donation will help the students”.
