Billboards conveying negative remarks of former President John Mahama have sprung up in some parts of the nation’s capital.
The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) could have been ruffled by the emerging face of the campaign season, however, and ordered the pulling down of the billboards.
It has all the hallmarks of thugs carrying out an assignment on behalf of their paymasters.
Some of the anti-Mahama billboards read, “No chalk in public schools” at the foot of which were hashtags #Dadanoaa #LestWeForget #SameMahama #WeHaveThings.
The billboards also represent failed promises of the former President against the backdrop of remarks he passed at the time.
Some of the remarks made by the former President include, “Stop the purposeless lamentation and self-pity”, “I am not a magician to put money into your pockets”, and “Ghanaians complain too much.”
Supporters of Mahama, not feeling comfortable with the foregone, are reported to have gone to pull them down.
As things stand, pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) persons could also descend upon those put up at some locations and which are against the ruling party.
Some persons have described the anti-Mahama billboards as ‘Mahama Daadanoa’ billboards.
With internet archives containing all such remarks by the former President, there is no stopping the billboard campaign approach, it would seem.
NPP activists will certainly put out all negative remarks by the former President to show that “the country is dealing with the same personality who said that ‘Ghanaians easily forget’ and so they better watch out” as observed by an anonymous person.
