Eedris on stage with 50cent
In a recent revelation, controversial Nigerian singer, Eedris Abdulkareem, has alleged that American rapper, 50 Cent and his crew physically assaulted and chased several Nigerian artists, including P-Square, out of the backstage during a concert organised by Nigerian Breweries in 2004.
The incident, according to Abdulkareem, occurred on the first day of the concert at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, Abdulkareem recounted how 50 Cent’s bouncers approached him and other Nigerian artists, instructing them to vacate the backstage area.
While many complied, Abdulkareem refused to leave. Abdulkareem stated that the situation escalated until an organiser intervened to prevent a potential altercation between him and 50 Cent’s crew.
He expressed his frustration, stating, “I just dey boil for where I dey. I was waiting for them to come and chase me. So, they finally came. When they came, they asked me to leave, that 50 Cent was coming. I said, ‘So what? Please, get the f*ck out of my face.’ They went to report me to one of the organisers, and he told them to leave me alone. Na there the wahala for start, so they escaped that night.”
Furthermore, Abdulkareem alleged that Charly Boy betrayed him by accepting a bribe from Nigerian Breweries to suppress evidence of 50 Cent’s crew bullying him during the plane saga.
According to Abdulkareem, Charly Boy confiscated a recording of the incident, which was in the possession of DJ Tee, and used it to negotiate with Nigerian Breweries. Abdulkareem claimed that as a result of this betrayal, Charly Boy blacklisted him from the industry.
