Producer of Dano Milk, Arla Foods, has donated dairy products to children at the 37 Military Hospital as part of activities to mark World Milk day.

World Milk Day, which is celebrated on June 1 every year, was established by the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations to recognise the importance of milk as a global food.

The Marketing Manager of Arla foods, Wilson Agbeko, said 37 Military Hospital was among the hospitals selected by the company to commemorate the Milk Day, considering the role of the hospital in the provision of critical medical care in the country.

He said the products, worth about GH¢52,000, would not only help boost the immune system of the children but also serve as an excellent source of protein for them.

He said the company has therefore made available different kinds of its milk products at affordable prices to meet the socio-economic status of everyone.

He also encouraged parents to include dairy products in their children’s meals while assuring consumers of the company’s commitment to continuously provide quality milk to improve the general wellbeing of people.

Acting Head at the Pediatrics Department, 37 Military Hospital, Dr.  Sheila Asamoah-Okyere, who received the products on behalf of the hospital, said milk is an essential product that boosts appetite as well as help in the development of children.

She therefore thanked the company for the gesture and prayed for the management and staff for success in their future endeavours.
