THE RULING New Patriotic Party (NPP), once again, will count heavily on support from the Ashanti Region to win the impending presidential and parliamentary elections.
The party’s Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah, who made the pronouncement, said emphatically that the “NPP’ electoral victory will start from the Ashanti Region”.
He said the Ashanti Region, which is the NPPs stronghold, has over the years given the NPP huge votes to win elections and he was expecting the trend to continue.
Sounding optimistic, Mr. Ahiagbah said the rousing welcome that was given to Dr. Bawumia when he toured the Ashanti Region recently shows the party is still strong in the region.
According to him, the NPP would surely retain power on December 7, 2024 based on the government’s good records, noting that the Ashanti Region would play a huge role in the win.
Ahiagbah commended the people in the Ashanti Region for welcoming Dr. Bawumia and his campaign team members in a grand style during his tour in their region recently.
“The deep love that the people of Asanteman, especially in Kumasi, displayed to Dr. Bawumia during his tour was amazing and as a political party, we are grateful to them,” he said.
According to Mr. Ahiagbah, what he witnessed in Kumasi during the campaign tour, gave a strong indication that indeed Ashanti Region would lead the NPPs victory again.
The NPP Director of Communication also highly commended the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for welcoming Dr. Bawumia to his palace during the tour.
“The NPP is grateful to Otumfuo”, he remarked on radio in Kumasi on Saturday, adding that, “we are also grateful to all the professional groups who interacted with Dr. Bawumia”.
