Mustapha Ussif sandwiched by Kenpong (L) and Bastia’s Technical Director
Youth and Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, has commended business magnate Kennedy Agyepong (Kenpong) highly for his immense contribution to the development of juvenile football in the country.
The Kenpong Group Executive Chairman has added a football academy to his chain of conglomerates – Kenpong Football Academy, a modern day facility in Winneba.
And to the Sports Minister, it will not be out of place for the businessman to replicate same structure in the north, taking into account the amount of talents in the area.
As a result, he has urged Kenpong to do same up north to unearth more talents.
The Sports Minister said this when Kenpong and Bastia Technical Director, Eric Joel, called on him at his office on Monday.
“I must commend Kenpong for what he has done, the facility in Winneba is second to none. It will certainly help unearth and develop more talents. The partnership with Bastia is also commendable,” the minister stated.
He added, “The Northern Region has produced and blessed the country and the world with great talents like Abedi Pele, Abu Moro, and Mohammed Gargo, among others. l believe if Kenpong replicates what he has done in Winneba in the North, we will have more talents, because the region is blessed with great football talents.”
The Bastia Technical Director promised his outfit’s readiness to construct an Astro Turf at the Winneba facility.
