Coastal Communities In Ghana To Receive Vital Infrastructure Boost

In a significant move to safeguard the livelihoods of coastal communities in Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to construct a sea defense wall for Ada and other coastal communities in the Greater Accra Region.

This promise was made during a stakeholders’ engagement in the Ada constituency, where Nene Osusey Acawerh II, Vice President of Ada Community Chiefs, appealed for government intervention to protect their communities from disasters.

The proposed sea defense wall will provide a vital barrier against tidal waves that have been gradually eroding fishing communities in the region.

Additionally, Dr. Bawumia promised to build a mini-harbor for the people of Sege, which will not only boost economic activities but also provide a safe haven for fishermen.
