Kozie (R) presenting the tools and a certificate to one of the beneficiaries
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Adentan Constituency, Akosua Asaa Manu, popularly known as Kozie, in collaboration with the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) through its BizBox Programme, has empowered 150 youth by providing them with essential start-up kits to support their various trades.
This initiative, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and job creation, is a testament to Kozie’s commitment to youth empowerment in Adentan, Accra.
At a ceremony held on the premises of the Resurrection Methodist Church in Adentan, these tools were distributed to young artisans engaged in different trades, including hairdressing, tailoring, make-up artistry, baking, catering, welding, metal fabrication, auto mechanics, and electrical work.
The start-up kits are designed to help beneficiaries either establish or expand their businesses, giving them the resources they need to succeed in their fields.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Kosi Yankey-Ayeh, CEO of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), praised Akosua Asaa Manu for her dedication and efforts in ensuring that the youth in Adentan benefitted from the BizBox initiative.
She noted that Kozie played an instrumental role in lobbying her agency to bring this programme to the Adentan Constituency, underscoring her commitment to supporting local enterprises.
Several of the beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude for the support, emphasising how the provision of these tools would enhance their financial independence and help them grow their businesses.
One recipient stated, “This is a great opportunity for us to start and grow our businesses,” reflecting the widespread appreciation for the gesture.
The BizBox Programme, an initiative of the GEA, aims to provide young entrepreneurs with skills, start-up kits, and mentorship to promote business growth and sustainability. The programme aligns with the government’s goal of addressing youth unemployment and creating over one million jobs by 2025.
Through this partnership with Kozie, the youth of Adentan are not only receiving the tools they need, but also the guidance and training required to build resilient, sustainable enterprises in Ghana’s growing economy.
