Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has given a strong endorsement to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, declaring him the best person to lead Ghana at this critical time.
In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, ex-President Kufuor praised Dr. Bawumia’s capabilities and expressed confidence in his leadership.
According to Mr. Kufuor, Dr. Bawumia’s vision and expertise make him the ideal candidate to navigate Ghana through its current challenges.
Ex-President Kufuor recalled facing criticism when he first described Dr. Bawumia as a “man of destiny.”
He noted that his endorsement was met with insults and opposition from certain quarters, yet he remains steadfast in his support for the current Vice President.
The former president emphasised Dr. Bawumia’s track record, highlighting his deep understanding of the country’s economic landscape and his innovative approach to governance.
Mr. Kufuor credited Dr. Bawumia’s vision as a vital asset, particularly in addressing complex economic issues and implementing forward-thinking policies.
According to him, Dr. Bawumia’s leadership would be instrumental in advancing Ghana’s development.
“I was attacked for calling Bawumia ‘a Man of Destiny,’ but I know why I said that. I think he’s the best man Ghana needs at this moment in our history. Ghanaians should give Bawumia a chance,” Kufuor stressed.
