Naa Torshie Addo speaking with the women
The Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Irene Naa Torshie Addo, has commenced intense campaigning in the Greater Accra Region to rally support and secure votes for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The first phase of the campaign took her to six constituencies namely Korle Klottey, Tema East, Ashaiman, Tema Central, Ledzokuku and La Dade Kotopon.
Addressing constituents at the Korle Klottey and La Dade Kotopon constituencies, Madam Naa Torshie Addo outlined the reasons why it is imperative to vote for Dr. Bawumia during the upcoming elections.
She emphasised Dr. Bawumia’s integrity and good intentions for Ghanaians, especially the youth, and urged voters to back all the NPP candidates.
Madam Naa Torshie Addo reminded voters of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s corrupt-free and scandal-free track record and his readiness to lead the country to greater heights, stressing that “we are bringing to you Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, someone that the Lord has set aside and preserved for Ghana. This is a person who has no scandal attached to his name. He has never been implicated in any corrupt practices, nor has he insulted anyone.”
She further reiterated that great strides had been made by the NPP government to strengthen the economy post COVID, adding that “we need Dr. Bawumia with his astute leadership in economics and finance to continue.”
She also encouraged citizens to reject religious intolerance and embrace all leaders, regardless of their faith.
At all the constituencies visited, the DACF Administrator urged voters to focus on electing a leader with the wisdom and courage to advance Ghana, citing the Free Senior High School (SHS) programme as an example of bold initiatives of the NPP government.
She said, “the courage to implement Free SHS came from Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia, and that kind of courage is rare.”
She said, “we need a visionary leader like Dr. Bawumia who will take bold initiatives like empowering the youth for digital economy to accelerate development and economic growth of Ghana.”
She advised Ghanaians to think beyond their immediate needs, explaining that it is best to secure the future as decisions made today would impact future generations.
She also introduced the NPP parliamentary candidates at each constituency and urged the people to vote for them as well.
In ending her message at each constituency, she asked for prayers for Dr. Bawumia and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, as well as all the NPP parliamentary candidates to be successful in the forthcoming elections. She thanked them for their warm reception, patience and audience.
