Agnes Naa Momo Lartey
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Krowor Constituency, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has won the parliamentary seat for a second term in the area, which has since been recorded as the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) strongest hold since the 90’s.
Naa Momo Lartey was elected as the MP for Krowor Constituency in 2020 after she took over the parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP, Elizabeth Afoley Quaye.
She decisively won against the Parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Emmanuel Laryea Odai who obtained 23,116 votes of the total valid votes, while she also obtained 39,198 votes, which indicates a very huge gap between them.
Meanwhile, independent candidates, Azumah Courage Kwame Mensah and Duke Afotey Mensah, obtained 97 vote and 125 votes respectively of the total valid ballots.
The total parliamentary votes cast were 62,856. However, the total valid votes cast were 62,536 with 320 votes rejected.
PRESIDENTIAL
Given that the Nungua is the NDC’s strongest hold since the 90’s, the former President of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama, obtained 40,990 valid votes while the Vice President and presidential candidate of the NPP obtained 20,461 valid votes.
The total valid votes at the Krowor Constituency for presidential candidates were 62,214 with 564 being recorded as total rejected ballots.
