Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Karaga Constituency who doubles as the Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, has retained his parliamentary seat in the December 7 general election.
Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, polled 27,315 votes beating his opponent Alhassan Sualiu Daudawa who secured 21,993 votes.
Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, made history in the 2020 general election when he became the first NPP parliamentary candidate to win the Karaga Constituency seat which had remained loyal to the NDC.
Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam secured 28,335 votes to win the parliamentary seat in 2020 while his opponent Alhassan Sualiu Daudawa polled 19,690 votes.
Alhassan Sualiu Daudawa had won the Karaga seat since 2012.
In a related development, the Member of Parliament for Tolon Constituency who doubles as the First Deputy Chief Majority Whip in Parliament, Habib Iddrisu, has retained his seat.
The First Deputy Chief Majority Whip in Parliament polled 30,893 votes to beat his contender Osman Tahidu Damba of the NDC who obtained 24,772 votes.
The Deputy Transport Minister, Hassan Tampuli, also retained the Gushegu Constituency seat for the NPP.
Hassan Tampuli secured 30,490 to win the seat while his opponent Mohammed Yussif Malimali polled 29,225 votes.
