Serene Insurance Supports Accra Psychiatric Hospital

Executive Chairman of First Sky Group Eric Seddy Kutortse has reassured management and inmates of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital of the company’s commitment to supporting the facility’s enhancement and infrastructural development.

Speaking at the second edition of the company’s Nine Lessons and Carols organised by Serene Insurance, a subsidiary of the First Sky Group, Mr Kutortse said the commitment to support the hospital was born out of its yearly interaction with the management and staff on measures needed to enhance the facility’s service delivery.

“We remain committed to supporting annually in ways we believe will go a long way toward helping deliver quality care to the inmates and activities to deepen mental health and well-being.

CEO of Serene Insurance, Mercy Naa Koshie Boampong mentioned that the company’s quarterly investments and occasional visits in no measure, contributed to minimising discrimination and stigma.

“As the CEO of Serene Insurance Company Limited, I am proud to say that this outdoor, annual Carol Service has become an integral part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. It is and will be our way of giving back to our immediate community in a practical way by letting them experience and live the joy, the cheer, and the transformative power of music,” she said.

Mrs. Boampong announced that the donated items which include bags of rice, gallons of cooking oils, sanitary and toiletries among others, worth GH₵100,000 will help the hospital to improve mental health care at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.

“We wish to use this occasion to remind all of us that this is the season that we must endeavour to rebuild, reconnect and renew relationships with friends, family, colleagues, and neighbour,s as these connections support and enrich our lives,” she added.

Medical Director, of Accra Psychiatric Hospital, Kwadwo Obeng Marfo, applauded the leadership of Serene Insurance for their unflinching support to ensure that inmates at the hospital are well taken care of.
