Thirty-nine (39) suspects were rounded up at Adom City Estate in Tema Community 25 yesterday in a crackdown on cybercrime networks.

The dawn raid, carried out by a joint security operation by the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, followed weeks of intelligence-led surveillance.

Security officials said the residential enclave had been converted into a hub for suspected cyber fraud activities, with operations allegedly coordinated by ringleaders who recruited accomplices.

Among those arrested were three minors and a woman believed to be an escort linked to one of the prime suspects.

The operation was conducted under heavy security, with officers seizing laptops, mobile devices and other digital equipment for forensic examination.

All suspects were in custody at the time of filing this report, and a police source said they would be transferred to the CID Headquarters in Accra for profiling and interrogation.

According to the source, investigators are expected to analyse the seized materials to build cases against the suspects.

CSA officials stressed that the exercise is part of a nationwide strategy to dismantle online fraud networks and curb financial scams that have defrauded individuals and institutions across the country.

The Authority also urged the public to remain cautious of suspicious online offers and digital transactions.

The CID, meanwhile, has assured that due process will be observed, especially in handling the minors caught in the swoop.
