Residents of Adidaase in the Wassa Amenfi District of the Western Region were thrown into a state of shock when news reached them that a popular farmer in the area had allegedly killed his six-year-old son for money rituals.

The farmer, Abdul Salam, 31, allegedly murdered his son by purportedly severing his head with a knife.

The suspect is also alleged to have cut the feet of the child and hid the body in a bush.

Meanwhile, the little boy was reported missing by the father and a search party was formed to look for him.

“But little did we know that his own father had killed him,” some members of the search party indicated.

They pointed out that after combing the entire farming community and could not find the little boy, it dawned on them to query the father further.

“So during the interrogation, Abdul Salam confessed murdering his son. He also stated that he wanted to use the severed head and feet for money rituals,” they disclosed.

They could not fathom why Salam could commit such heinous crime. “If he had gotten the money, will he have enjoyed it after killing his son?” they quizzed.

The suspect has been handed over to the Asankragwa police, who also indicated that Salam has admitted killing his son.
