‘Our Culture Is Treasure’

Former Head of Public Affairs at Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Fiifi Boafo, has stressed the need for Ghanaians to embrace their diverse cultural heritage.

“Our culture is a treasure; it reflects who we are and guides us toward a brighter future’. It allows us to connect with our identity and celebrate the beauty of our traditions”, he stated.

He said festivals which are crucial part of the Ghanaian culture always present an opportunity for drawing visitors and creating opportunities.

Mr. Boafo was speaking at the Apa festival of the Chief and people of Kyekyewere in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region.

“This festival is not just a marking of our harvest; it is a vibrant expression of our identity, our traditions, and our enduring spirit as a people”.

He praised the Chief of Kyekyewere, Nana Asaa Kofi III for his vision and development agenda, adding that the chief’s leadership style inspires the people to embrace their heritage and uplift their community.

“Therefore, I call upon all Wassa citizens and residents to unite in support of Nana’s various initiatives”.

“Together, we can spearhead efforts to develop our community, enhance local businesses, and foster a positive impact that will benefit all”, he added.

He pledged his personal commitment to the noble cause led by the traditional authorities, and encouraged the people to actively participate in creating a thriving environment for all.

“Together, let us make this Apa Festival a catalyst for growth and unity,” he pointed out.

Mr. Boafo later donated an amount of GH¢10,000 to support the festival.
