Olamide Adedeji
Nigerian music icon, Olamide Adedeji, has declared that he is not seeking international validation, insisting he is content being an indigenous artist.
In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra, Olamide said he would never alter his sound or style just to please a Western audience.
“You have to identify your audience. Once you do, the rest of the world will catch up eventually,” he said. “I’m comfortable in my skin. I’m a Naija guy, a Yoruba boy — I have the H-Factor and all that, and I’m proud of it.”
The award-winning rapper emphasised the importance of authenticity, noting that his success stems from staying true to his roots and representing Nigerian culture through his music.
