Faustina Fosu
Faustina Fosu, the younger sister of late highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, has dismissed claims circulating on social media suggesting that the body coffin was not her brother.
Speaking to the media on December 14, 2025, Faustina described the allegations as false and misleading, stressing that she personally saw the late musician and confirmed his identity.
“He’s the one, and he was looking good when I saw him. People were alleging it was a toy that was in the coffin, but it’s not true,” she stated.
Faustina Fosu explained that some decisions taken during the funeral arrangements were guided by Daddy Lumba’s wishes prior to his death. According to her, the renowned musician had instructed that his face should not be revealed and that he did not want a public laying-in-state.
“Daddy Lumba said it before he died that we shouldn’t reveal his face, and he also didn’t want us to lay him in public,” she disclosed.
However, she noted that the family decided to allow a public laying-in-state after false narratives began spreading online. She clarified that although the body was displayed publicly, the family ensured his face was covered to honour his final wishes.
“People know how to fabricate lies. That’s why we decided to lay him in public, but we covered his face just to honour his wish,” she added.
Daddy Lumba, one of Ghana’s most celebrated highlife musicians, passed away on July 26, 2025, prompting an outpouring of tributes from fans, colleagues, and industry figures both locally and internationally.
