Renowned Ghanaian actress and media personality, Nana Ama McBrown has publicly confirmed that her marriage to her former manager, Maxwell Mensah, has ended, stating boldly that she is divorced and unashamed.

In a TV3 interview that surfaced on social media on December 17, 2025, Nana Ama McBrown revealed that she and her former husband have been separated for the past 2 years. According to the actress, the period following the separation has been the happiest and most fulfilling phase of her life.

She explained that overcoming both her divorce and recent health challenges has made her stronger and more appreciative of life.

“I’m happy because I’ve been able to overcome them. I’m over it. I’m a happy woman. I believe I’m the strongest,” she said. “Divorce should never be the end. If you overcome health issues, that means God has saved you, because sometimes not even money can save you when it comes to health.”

Nana Ama described her journey through divorce as a rollercoaster but stressed that she handled it with dignity and grace.

“Yes, I’m divorced, and I’m not ashamed to say it, but I did it so beautifully,” she added.

Despite the separation, the award-winning actress emphasised that she remains on excellent terms with Maxwell Mensah, noting that their relationship is now built on friendship and mutual respect.

“My husband and I are cool. We spoke yesterday, we speak today, and we’ll speak tomorrow. We meet, I go to our house, my in-laws, and everything. I am a happy woman. We are the best of friends,” she stated.

McBrown also highlighted that their greatest blessing from the marriage is their daughter, whom she described as priceless.

“We didn’t go through it like the bitter ones. We sat down and talked. If we don’t meet again, the most precious thing you’ve given me is my daughter. You can have the wealth, and I can have her, and I can live forever,” she said.
