Ghanaian dance icon, Dancegod Lloyd, has revealed that dancehall act Shatta Wale never charged him for his verse in the song, ‘Our Wife’, which also featured rap artiste Medikal.
Speaking in an interview on Changes hosted by Roselyn Feli, the dance artiste indicated that Shatta Wale was not offered a penny for his feature on the song because he asked not to be paid.
“Shatta Wale, this man embodies love, he’s selfless, very selfless. Shatta pays attention to me, he’s watching, and he loves the dance industry. He wanted to even pay for the music video,” he told the host.
Dancegod Lloyd’s ‘Our Wife’ is a lively Afrobeat and dancehall-infused track featuring Medikal and Shatta Wale. Released on November 13, 2025, the song celebrates love, relationships, and friendship with a playful tone. The collaboration brings together three energetic entertainers, blending humour, rhythm, and a catchy hook.
