Hearts Of Oak Cruise Past Eleven Wonders

Mawuli Wayo scored the first goal

Hearts of Oak delivered a commanding performance on Saturday, sweeping aside Eleven Wonders 3–0 to climb temporarily into second place in the Premier League standings.

The Phobians signalled their intent early, with Mawuli Wayo breaking the deadlock just eight minutes into the encounter to set the tone for an entertaining display at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Hearts maintained sustained pressure throughout the match and were rewarded again in the 62nd minute when Martin Karikari reacted fastest inside the box to double the advantage, bundling the ball home after a goalmouth scramble.

Kelvin Asibey then sealed the emphatic victory, calmly converting a penalty to cap off a polished attacking showing.

The Accra giants were impressive at both ends of the pitch, combining their most clinical attacking display of the campaign with a disciplined defensive effort to record a well-deserved clean sheet.

The win keeps Hearts of Oak firmly in the title race and lifts them into second place, pending the outcome of Sunday’s fixtures. Focus now shifts to a crucial clash with Bechem United as the Phobians look to build further momentum.

For Eleven Wonders, rooted to the foot of the table, relegation fears continue to mount as they edge closer to a return to the Division One League. They will hope to regroup quickly ahead of their next outing against Young Apostles.
