A scene during the donation
We Care Health Foundation, a non-governmental organisation focused on healthcare delivery and community welfare, has made a donation of GH¢3,100 to support vulnerable patients at the Ga North Municipal Hospital in Ofankor.
The donation, which formed part of the Foundation’s fourth annual outreach exercise, was carried out on December 26, 2025, and aimed at easing the financial burden of indigent patients while strengthening the hospital’s welfare support system.
As part of the intervention, the Foundation settled outstanding medical bills for two children who had been detained at the facility over unpaid fees, paying GH¢300 for each child.
In addition a patient battling a chronic illness who has undergone three medical infusions, received GH¢1,500 to help offset her medical expenses.
To ensure continued assistance for needy patients, the Foundation also donated GH¢1,000 to the hospital’s Needy Fund, which is used to support patients unable to afford critical healthcare services.
Speaking during the presentation, President of the We Care Health Foundation, Amo Kofi Manu Asare, highlighted the role of community support in addressing healthcare challenges in the country.
He said that although the Foundation is still building its financial capacity, it remains committed to contributing meaningfully to improving access to healthcare for vulnerable populations.
“Giving back to the community is central to the Foundation’s mission. Although the Foundation is still building its financial capacity, it remains committed to contributing meaningfully toward addressing healthcare deficits in the country,” he stated.
Beneficiaries of the donation expressed gratitude to the Foundation, describing the intervention as timely and life-changing.
One beneficiary said the support came at a moment when hope had been lost, describing the gesture as “a godly act.”
“We are very grateful for this intervention. It is truly a godly act, and it has come at a time when we had lost hope,” one beneficiary remarked.
Management and staff of the Ga North Municipal Hospital commended the Foundation for its consistency and compassion, and encouraged other organisations and individuals to support similar initiatives to enhance healthcare delivery.
