IGP exchanging pleasantries with Electoral Officer at a polling station
Inspector-General of the Ghana Police Service, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has visited Jamestown Police Station during the NPP flagbearer election at the Odododiodio constituency, directing officers to maintain strict queue control.
IGP Christian Yohuno who was accompanied by Members of the Police Management Board urged police personnel and Electoral Commission officials to guide the process, ensuring orderliness.
He also applauded members of the Police Service for maintaining peace since the start of the election, urging them to uphold professionalism.
IGP Christian Yohuno also visited the Korley Klottey constituency among others in the Capital.
The NPP flagbearer primary election ended across the country.
There have been some incidents of tension and clashes between supporters of different candidates, including a clash between an agent of Kennedy Agyapong and a party official in the Akan Constituency.
Former Awutu Senya East MP, Hawa Koomson, has vowed to keep the peace at her polling station, despite attempts by opponents to provoke her.
The five candidates contesting in the election include, Kennedy Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong are considered frontrunners in this election.
