Adjoa Andoh hugging Queen Charlotte
Many Ghanaians have expressed their excitement following the release of Bridgeton Season 4 after the country’s Adinkra symbols were featured as accessories for Adjoa Andoh, who played the character of Lady Danbury.
Adjoa Andoh used her role in Bridgeton to celebrate the Akan heritage, incorporating the Adinkra symbols into her accessories.
The symbols include ‘Sankofa’, a prominent Adinkra symbol, which originates from the Akan language which translate to ‘return, go, and seek’. The second symbol was ‘Gye Nyame’, meaning ‘Except for God’, representing God’s omnipotence.
Bridgeton season four is all about Benedict Bridgeton’s (Luke Thompson) love story with Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), a maid who disguises herself as the mysterious Lady in Silver at a masquerade ball.
This Cinderella-inspired romance explores themes of social class, identity, and the complexities of relationships. The season consists of eight episodes, with the first four released on January 29, 2026, and the remaining four set for release on February 26, 2026.
The story delves into Benedict’s journey of self-discovery, as he navigates his feelings for Sophie while grappling with societal expectations. Sophie, a resourceful and determined maid, must balance her own desires with the harsh realities of her position.
The season also features familiar faces, including Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington, Luke Newton as Colin Bridgeton, and Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgeton, among others.
