Kwesi Arthur
Ghanaian rap star, Kwesi Arthur, has released his eight-track EP ‘Redemption Valley’, hitting No. 1 on Ghana’s Apple Music chart with every song claiming the top eight spots, led by ‘Redemption.’
The tracklist showcases a mix of introspective anthems and high-energy cuts, which include ‘Redemption’, ‘I Be Where I Wanted To Be’, ‘Yawa (Hosanna)’, ‘Immigrant’, ‘Babylon Interlude’, ‘What They Want (Gye)’, ‘Okay Switch’, and ‘Broken Pieces’.
Built on teasers about his journey through struggle—from walking hours to studios in Tema to his 2018 BET Awards nod—tracks like ‘Okay Switch’ and ‘Broken Pieces’ draw early praise for their vibe.
The eight-track body of work, available on major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and others, followed an early-access release on the EVEN platform, where fans could support the artiste directly ahead of the wide rollout.
Described by the artiste and platforms as “a journey through struggle, survival, and self-reclaiming, where scars become strength and truth finds its way home,” ‘Redemption Valley’ blends Kwesi Arthur’s signature Afrobeat-infused hip-hop with deeply personal storytelling.
It reflects themes of comeback, resilience, and redemption—echoing the artiste’s own path after periods of reflection and growth since his previous releases like ‘Son of Jacob (2022)’ and various EPs.
