Singer Efya has cast doubt on the transformation of controversial Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Agradaa, following her recent release from prison.
Agradaa has been trending on social media following her release from prison on March 3, 2026, after serving a one-year jail term.
Her return sparked celebrations at the Heaven Way Champion International Ministry, where church members and supporters gathered in a spirit-filled atmosphere to welcome their founder back.
Reacting to a viral video from the service, which showed a congregant appearing overwhelmed and rolling on the floor during prayers, Efya expressed scepticism and disappointment. The award-winning singer questioned whether Agradaa had truly changed and suggested she could return to her old ways.
“She’s fitting to do it to y’all again and again… we gon see..!!” Efya wrote in response to the video.
Agradaa’s release followed a ruling by the Amasaman High Court on February 5, 2026, which reduced her initial 15-year sentence to 12 months on counts two and three. She was also fined 200 penalty units (GH¢2,400) and ordered to refund GH¢1,000 to her two complainants, in addition to fines imposed under count one.
The court described the original 15-year sentence with hard labour as harsh and excessive but upheld her conviction. The revised sentence took effect from July 3, 2025, the date of her conviction, meaning she served a total of one year in prison.
Efya’s comments have since fueled debate online, with social media users divided over whether Agradaa deserves a second chance or continued scrutiny.
