Kelvynboy Urges Stars To Mentor Emerging Artistes

FLASHBACK: Stonebwoy and Kelvynboy from early days

Afrobeats singer Kelvynboy is urging established musicians to extend a helping hand to emerging talents, emphasizing that mentorship is crucial for sustaining the music industry.

Speaking in an interview on TV3 Ghana on March 5, 2026, the “Mea” hitmaker reflected on how Stonebwoy supported him during his early days under the BHIM Nation camp.

According to Kelvynboy, major stars do not need to reach the pinnacle of their careers before helping younger artistes break through.

“I think it is very important; it’s like giving a helping hand, as Stonebwoy did for me,” he said. “Even when I was singing in church, someone introduced me and told people I could sing. So, ‘let’s give him a chance.’ I feel like I don’t have to be as big as I want to be before I can also help.”

The singer revealed that he dedicated much of 2025 to supporting rising acts. During studio sessions, he often encounters young artists whose talent, he says, deserves a wider audience.

Kelvynboy noted that he uses his platform to spotlight such talents, adding that the response so far has been encouraging.

“Anytime I go to the studio and meet these young guys, they are exceptionally good. So I just try to use my fame to push them,” he said, adding that many of the artistes he has supported are now gaining recognition.
