At least three suspects are in the custody of the Bono East Regional Police Command for their alleged involvement in the murder of the Queenmother of Abamba, Nana Serwaa Asaamaa Kuma Gyan, near Amantin in the Atebubu area of the Bono East Region.
The suspects, Rafiu Haruna, Muftawu Adamu, and Michael Owusu Spermi, were arrested through an intelligence-led operation.
They are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations, while efforts continue to bring all perpetrators involved in the crime to justice.

It will be recalled that on 25th February 2026, the Queenmother of Abamba was shot at her residence at the Methodist Church area in Atebubu.
The late Queenmother, operator of ‘Ohemaa’s Kitchen’, a popular food and drinking spot at Atebubu, was shot dead by unknown assailants around 2300 hours.
Police discovered that the Queenmother was shot in the leg with other gunshot wounds in the abdomen when they retrieved the lifeless body.
