Zuba and his team of experts inspecting the road project
BARRING ANY last minute hitch, the ongoing Daaban New Site road project will be completed and opened to traffic very soon, it has been announced.
The drainage system is complete, final compaction of the road is underway, and bitumen surfacing is set to begin next week by the contractor working on the road.
When finally completed and opened to traffic, the road would connect commuters to Sokoban, Santase and Ejisu, through the Melcom road, as well as nearby communities.
This came to light when the Kumasi Mayor, Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, nicknamed as ‘Zuba’, visited the site to inspect the road project on Tuesday.
Zuba, who seemed excited about what he had witnessed, gave thumbs up for the road contractor engaged to construct the 6-kilometre road.
He said the road works show the government’s commitment to boosting road infrastructure, stressing, “the road will improve air quality and mobility for residents and road users,”
On his part, Na-em Iddrisu, the Ashanti Regional Director for Urban Roads, assured that the road will be opened to traffic within two weeks to improve vehicular movement.
The Kumasi Mayor and his team of road technicians and experts, later on the same day, visited Duase New Site to assess the road challenges facing the residents.
