Fire Outbreak Leaves 14 Homeless

The house after the fire

A fire outbreak has rendered 14 persons homeless after a five-bedroom house was razed at Maase in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region.

The incident occurred on Friday, March 20, 2026, destroying property worth hundreds of Cedis. One of the tenants reportedly lost items valued at millions of Cedis in the blaze.

Fortunately, no casualties were recorded.

Victims of the inferno, who spoke to journalists, said they are yet to establish the exact cause of the fire, but suspect erratic power supply may have triggered it.

Some of the affected residents have appealed to benevolent individuals and organisations for assistance, lamenting that they have lost everything to the fire.

“We have lost everything; not even our clothes were spared. We are pleading with the public to come to our aid,” they said.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service responded to the distress call, but the building had already been completely destroyed upon their arrival.

The Fire Service has since commenced investigations into the cause of the incident.
