Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy
Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy has ruled out any possibility of reconciling with rival Shatta Wale, citing deep personal reasons tied to their long-standing feud.
Speaking in an interview on Angel FM, Stonebwoy said making peace with his colleague at this stage would feel like a betrayal of his late mother’s memory.
“So, looking at where things have gotten to at this point, if I start smiling or laughing with the person, even my mother’s ghost will kill me,” he stated.
The two artists have been embroiled in a bitter rivalry for nearly a decade, often trading insults through interviews and on social media. However, Stonebwoy rejected claims that the tension is merely part of showbiz.
He argued that musicians have a responsibility to promote Ghana positively on the global stage and should avoid harmful statements in the name of publicity.
“The faction justifies it by saying it’s just a game, but there are certain things you cannot say in the name of marketing,” he said. “Once you say certain things, you damage it.”
The feud intensified in 2018 when Stonebwoy alleged that Shatta Wale accused him of being responsible for the death of his mother, Catherine Satekla, who died in 2015. Shatta Wale has denied the allegation.
Stonebwoy said the incident remains a painful and unresolved issue, making any form of reconciliation unlikely.
