Ifeanyi Osuoha lying dead at the crime scene

A 25-YEAR- old suspected thief has been lynched by an irate mob at the Abinkyi Market in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.

The deceased, who has been identified by the police as Ifeanyi Osuoha, was reportedly found lying dead in the market in the early morning of Friday, April 17, 2026.

It is believed that Osuoha, who has been terrorising the traders in the market with his criminal activities, perhaps, was caught stealing in the area and his captors lynched him.

The case was reported to the Asokwa District Police in Kumasi, who visited the scene, deposited the body in the morgue and started investigations.

“On April 17, 2026, at about 0840 hours, information was received from the Police Control Room, Ashanti Region, that an unidentified male adult had been found dead at Abinkyi Market.

“A Police team proceeded to the scene where they found the body of a male adult, aged about 25 years, later identified as Ifeanyi Osuoha. The deceased, who had dreadlocks and was dressed in boxer shorts, was lying in a prone position.

“A preliminary examination of the body revealed multiple marks of assault, with blood oozing from the mouth. The circumstances suggested that the deceased may have been lynched by a mob.

“The scene was processed, photographs were taken, and the body was conveyed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy,” Asokwa District police report said.

Preliminary investigations, according to the police investigators, “indicate that the deceased was reportedly known within the Abinkyi area for alleged criminal activities.”

“It is further alleged that he was attacked and lynched by a mob in the early hours of the same day while purportedly engaging in criminal activity,” the report disclosed, adding that “efforts are underway to locate and inform the relatives of the deceased, as well as to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.”
