Elder Mireku Honoured

Veteran gospel musician, Emmanuel Kwasi Mireku, popularly known as Elder Mireku, has been honoured with the Notable Gospel Artiste Award at the prestigious Christian Honours.

The recognition celebrates his four-decade contribution to gospel music and ministry, impacting lives through spirit-filled songs and unwavering dedication to the Christian faith.

Elder Mireku’s ministry began in the late 1970s. His worship songs earned him an Honorary Doctorate in Sacred Music from the Ecclesiastical Bishops and Leaders Conference of Africa (affiliated to Kayiwa International University, Uganda) in 2016. Elder Mireku has greatly influenced the gospel music industry and musicians in Ghana. Ā He has released 56 albums, with over 500 songs including ā€˜Oko no wako awie’, ā€˜Odimafo (Tongues)’, ā€˜Hallelujah’ and ā€˜Mempa Aba’. He was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the first edition of Ghana Music Awards, South Africa.
