Prince David Criticises Mahama Over Dumsor

Actor, Prince David Osei, has criticised President John Dramani Mahama, over power outages, popularly known as dumsor.

In a post on X, the actor claimed the name ‘Mahama’ has become closely associated with the country’s persistent electricity challenges. He pointed to the 2012–2016 power crisis, which disrupted homes and businesses nationwide, and compared it to the current 2024–2026 period.

“Now, it suffices to say that the name Mahama has become synonymous with DUMSOR. From the 2012–2016 power crisis, which crippled homes and businesses nationwide, to 2024–2026, every tenure of President Mahama has been significantly marked and burdened by DUMSOR,” he wrote.

Prince also argued that despite the well-documented economic and social effects of the outages, electricity tariffs remain high.

“Ghanaians deserve better than this. Please, Mr. President, we deserve better,” he added.

Currently, power outages still persist without a clear timeline for when it will end.
