The Ghana Water Company Limited has announced that over 16 communities in the Greater Accra Metropolis will experience temporary water distribution challenges due to technical issues at the Weija Water Treatment Plant.
Affected areas include Dansoman, Mamprobi, Mataheko, Laterbiokorshie, Korle-bu, La Paz, MacCarthy Hill, Gbawe, Mallam, Tesano, Darkuman, North Kaneshie, Dome, Achimota, Anyaa, Ablekuma and surrounding communities.
Management of the Ghana Water Company Limited has attributed this development to the Weija Water Treatment Plant which is currently experiencing some technical challenges which have affected water production and distribution to some parts of western Accra.
“Management wishes to inform the public that as a result of the situation, customers in the following areas may experience erratic water
supply and low water pressure:

Water Ltd are working assiduously to rectify the challenges and restore normal water supply as early as practicable” part of the statement read.
Customers are advised to store water when there’s flow and can contact Ghana Water Ltd’s Call Centre for assistance: 0800 40 000 (Telecel), 0302218240, or through social media handles.
The management further apologizes to affected customers for the inconvenience caused and appeals for calm and cooperation while efforts are underway to resolve the challenge.
