Desmond Elliot
Nigerian actor and lawmaker, Desmond Elliot, has officially withdrawn from the Lagos State House of Assembly primaries.
According to reports from Nigeria, Elliot announced his withdrawal in a video circulating on social media on Wednesday.
In the video, the Surulere I representative alleged that there had been intimidation and obstruction during the exercise.
“My name is Desmond Elliot. In all zones, they have been intimidating and stopping us. I want to officially announce my withdrawal from this particular race. This is my ward, if you go outside, those are my people outside, and they have not been allowed so I am officially announcing my withdrawal from this race. Good luck, thank you,” he said.
Desmond Elliot currently represents the Surulere I constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly and was seeking re-election on the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
