Another Warehouse Fire Guts Rubber Recycling Factory in Tema

Fire has once again swept through the Tema Industrial Area after a rubber recycling warehouse and factory went up in flames in the early hours of this morning.
The commercial fire started at 0040hrs and quickly spread through the facility, sending thick smoke into the sky.
4 fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the scene from Tema Industrial, Devtraco, Motorway and Free Zones fire stations. Firefighters battled for hours to contain the blaze.
As of this morning, personnel were still at the scene salvaging and overhauling to prevent re-ignition.
In the course of the operation, some firefighters sustained injuries after parts of the roof caved in on them. They were treated at the scene and are receiving further medical attention.
The Ghana National Fire Service is yet to determine the cause of the fire and the extent of damage to the rubber recycling warehouse and factory.
