WR Gets New Health Director

The Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, has officially welcomed the newly appointed Western Regional Health Director, Dr. Godfred Kwabena Sarpong, following his assumption of office.

He replaces Dr. Dr. (Med) Marion Okoh-Owusu, who has been transferred to the Ghana Health Service Headquarters in Accra.

The minister congratulated Dr. Sarpong on his appointment and called on all stakeholders within the health sector to offer him their full cooperation and support as he assumes leadership of the Regional Health Directorate.

He also wished Dr. Sarpong a successful and fulfilling tenure.

According to the minister, the new Regional Health Director has what it takes to strengthen healthcare delivery and advance the health sector in the region.

Meanwhile, some residents in the region have praised the outgoing Regional Health Director, Dr. Dr. (Med.) Marion Okoh-Owusu, for her hard work, dedication and meritorious service which have contributed to the current improvement at the Regional Health Directorate.

Dr. Okoh-Owusu served as the Western Regional Health Director for about a year before being reassigned to the Service’s headquarters in Accra.
